Master of Arts in Autism Spectrum Disorders (AP/CPE)

Grand Canyon University The College of Education 11 courses 32 total credits

About This Program

(Advanced Program for Continuing Professional Education) This program does not include a student teaching component, and does not therefore lead to licensure, but may lead to career advancement for those already licensed as teachers. During the program of study, professional educators survey the unique characteristics of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and the core challenges associated with language and communication, social skills, behavior, and processing. From this foundational knowledge, educators design and implement program planning and service delivery. As a result, educators demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in implementing evidence-based and multi-faceted methodologies and strategies necessary in teaching and engaging students with ASD. In addition, educators collaborate as a member of a multi- disciplinary team with service providers and effectively interact with families.
