About This Program

(Advanced Program for Continuing Professional Education) This program does not include a student teaching component, and does not therefore lead to licensure, but may lead to career advancement for those already licensed as teachers. The Master of Education in Educational Leadership with an Emphasis in K12 Christian Education, non-licensure program is designed for teachers or administrators interested in advancing their careers as Christian educational leaders in a PK-12 setting. The program is designed with Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) accreditation guidelines in mind and allows for students to be ACSI eligible. Course topics include Christian leadership, curriculum theory and development, assessment data and analysis, crisis and change, school law, finance, management, and character development focusing on human flourishing within multiple school settings including the Christian school environment. The program includes an action research project culminating in a capstone with a 30 hour practicum requirement. Graduates would be well-suited to establish an ethos around character education in their schools. This program prepares candidates for educational leadership in multiple school settings including Christian schools that do not require state licensure or certification.
