Students participating in the UB/SDM-AEGD ¿Externship¿ will be involved in the direct delivery of patient care. Patients will come from multiple sources. Some of the sources are AEGD Resident Treatment Plans, Emergency Clinic Referral, Screening Clinic Referral as well as ¿Patient Services¿ (OHR Program). While the clinic is located in the SDM, students will experience delivery of comprehensive care—– through multiple modalities, in a single setting. The program attempts to mimic a private practice environment while affording the student the chance to see how our clinic operates and what a resident¿s experience might be. Ideal commitment by a student would be for full-time for five days within one week. Additional weeks can be offered if available. Other arrangements may be available with a minimum commitment of 5 full days over the time period. The program is limited to 8 participating students.
