This course surveys traditional and evolving views on item design, reliability, and validity, reviews statistical methods related to test construction, and applies this material to the design and evaluation of observational, rating, and self-report methods in domains of interest to psychologists. The course also examines the impact of test characteristics on data analysis and the role of test design in theory construction. 3 credits Grading Letter graded (A, A-, B+, etc.)
