The profitability of a mining company today depends on careful management of operations and continuous improvement in processes. The mining industry is characterized by using several operational and economic parameters that interact with each other over time, generating different scenarios that must be optimized. One optimization proposal is to propose an analytical solution or simulation that is a comparison between physical reality and virtual reality. Simulation requires the analysis of a real system and its needs, the conceptual approach assigning controls and the development of a computational model to reproduce variability and uncertainty. The course includes a comprehensive operations simulation exercise to quantitatively evaluate and analyze the performance of systems and processes in mining production, with the idea of raising alternative scenarios and proposing improvements without the need to make real changes by streamlining economic resources, logistics, and time.
