ARC 616

Architectural Research Methods

University at Buffalo 3 credits Architecture

Course Description

The ultimate goal of the course is to guide graduate students to develop a methodological and theoretical grounding for future research/thesis projects. This is done through reading assignments, writing exercises, group discussions, and peer review sessions. By the end of the semester, each student will have the opportunity to develop a high quality research prospectus. This course is less about deep theoretical discussions on research than a pragmatic, ?how-to? dive into devising a specific roadmap and organizational configuration tailored to each student’s thesis work.
