About This Program

The CIS program prepares students for entry-level positions in business, industry, and government, such as: programming, systems analysis and design, database administration, web design and programming, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or network support, and provides students with the technical knowledge and managerial skills necessary for a wide range of subsequent career paths. There is a growing demand in all sectors for individuals with this combination of capabilities. The CIS program was developed with the cooperation of employers and information technology professionals and, unlike a computer science program, the emphasis of the program is on business, industry, and government applications of computers, rather than on computer theory.
